I have used photo sharing websites in class for a while now; i do searches based on the literature that we are reading in class; ie: pictures of Shakespeare; Romeo and Juliet; the American West and other images related to our course of study. The photos help my students to visualize what the writers meant.
That's a great idea! Maybe you could give a mini-lesson to your colleagues this fall!
